Honestly, I’d rather we just skip the formalities. I’m Deirvin Davis and I like nature. If it isn’t obvious by the way I have my weebly site customized then I should tell you: I love air, wind and anything to do with the sky. The wind is-in my opinion- the best part about nature. I love the way-with enough force- how wind can move just about anything. The best days to me, would be a cloudless day where all you can see is big blue open skies. From the Air Nomads depicted in The Last Airbender to the extreme sports of the X Games, my dream is to parachute, hang gliding, zip lining, etc. Any sport that allows temporary flight/free falling. Associating flight with freedom.
That’s a feeling I would like to experience. The majesticness of the heavens above fills you with a sense of insignificance. The urge to sprout wings and soar forever amongst an invisible turbulence. The kind of blue beauty that assures me there’s no reason to be afraid. So much beauty it just makes my heart burst.
My second favorite kind of sky would definitely be grey skies. The impression of a tempest looming in the distance. A maelstrom of divine wrath and despair that washes over you and purifies you. The pleasure of dancing and singing in a continuous barrage of cathartic water whilst paying homage to Gene Kelly. When I see people run indoors upon the initial rainfall I can’t help but laugh. Running in the rain will cause the rain to seep through your clothes at a faster pace. People don’t realize that they’re better off walking through the downpour.
That is what I think of nature. You can keep your viridian glades and cerulean seas. Keep your precious biomes and microorganisms. Continue to debate over whether human influence in the forests is ruining the “spirit of nature.” I shall keep to the skies above.
